Kid’s Workshop: Zucchini Racers

Join us as we make a race car out of a giant zucchini to be raced during our zucchini races at our Fall Fair. You’ll bring a large zucchini and we’ll provide basic wheels and some decoration items to make your racer uniquely yours. (You can also bring your own wheels if you’d like. (Click here for race rules to make sure your plan meets our expectations.) Then, on Fall Fair Day, we’ll put them through their paces and see who’s fastest on race day!

This workshop is suitable for children of all ages, but children under 8 should be accompanied by an adult. (One adult can accompany multiple children, as necessary. Assisting adults are welcome at *no charge*.)

On Sept 22nd, the Grist Mill will be holding its 6th annual Heritage Fall Fair and there will be numerous categories of competition for youth. We’re hosting a series of after-school workshops before event to give kids a chance to spend some dedicated time on entries for some of the categories.

Each workshop runs from 3PM to 4:30PM and includes all the materials your child will need to create a masterpiece. They’re then welcome to leave their finished product here to be included in the exhibit categories on the day of the event.

All youth who attend one of these workshops and choose to enter their item into our Fall Fair will be given free admission to the event.
