Artist Bio
They say “Storytelling isn’t about the truth, it’s about what the truth should have been”. For Ben Cottrill, a decade of performing on streets and stages across Canada has given him a story that defines his soulful Folk-Rock style and resonates with the west-coast romantic in everyone.
Ben Cottrill has kept busy in recent years – chosen from 20,000 applicants across Canada to appear on CTV’s music series “The Launch”, he was one of a few select artists working with both Canadian legend Bryan Adams and industry mogul Scott Borchetta on the program.
Cottrill has also played 300+ live dates across Canada with performances at the Vancouver Shipyards Festival and Richmond World Festival, and has opened for Canadian groups Bedouin Soundclash, Jon & Roy and more.
His latest EP collection “Velvet Regrets Vol. 1&2” and its accompanying short film was released Fall 2020, and he continues a steady performance schedule around Canada, being named the 2021 Folk Artist of the Year from the Fraser Valley Music Awards.
KEY CONCERT SERIES INFO
Through the summer of 2022, we will be hosting a variety of exceptional artists in June, July, August and September for an evening concert series in our picturesque Historic Site. Unless otherwise noted, doors open at 6:00PM and concerts start at 7:00PM.
You are encouraged to bring your own blankets and low-rise lawn chairs; taller chairs are also welcome, but you may be asked to sit in the back to avoid obstructing the view of others. You’re welcome to bring your own water bottles (reusable or factory-sealed) but outside food or drinks are prohibited on site. The Grist Mill & Gardens will be operating a concession at each show.
As soon as we announce the performer for each show, you’ll be able to buy tickets for that show online. You’ll also be able to purchase tickets at our front desk beginning on June 1st, 2022. Some tickets may also be available at the door on the night of the event, depending on availability, but a small additional surcharge will apply.
